Square Enix Product Development Division 9
Square Enix Product Development Division 9 has made 5 games in the Playcade catalog, from 2004 to 2009. Their main genres are Role-playing (RPG) and Adventure. Best known for Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.
After the merging with Enix Corporation, this department was created solely dedicated to handle their flagship franchise: Dragon Quest.
In late 2013, Square Enix would go to a corporate restructure that would introduce the Business Division system. Main development of the Dragon Quest franchise would be handed to Business Division 6.
